Tips For Hanging Wall Decor Correctly

Hanging artwork or wall decor correctly is VERY important!

The number 1 most common design mistake I see is incorrectly hanging wall art/decor.

Here are some of my tips:

1. If you don’t have furniture under your artwork or wall decor, hang your artwork 60” from the ground. Hanging things at eye level is key! Hanging something too high makes the room feel off balance. Hanging something at eye level feels welcoming.

2. Hang artwork 4-7” above furniture. Hanging artwork too high makes the room feel disproportionate (as you can see in the visual).

3. If the artwork is behind a sofa, the artwork should be hung 4-8” above the sofa and spaced 2-4” apart. Also, the wall art should be approximately 2/3 the width of the sofa.
